Beauty therapy is a job that requires 100% attention and concentration 100% of the time. Beauty therapists are highly caring people with other peoples needs and comfort always in mind. Characteristics include a positive cheery personality, good communication skills, impeccable personal hygiene and the ability to work under own initiative. You will be expected to work to tight schedules and sometimes during unsociable hours.

Essential criteria
1. Beauty therapy to NVQ level 3 standard or equivalent.
2. Experience within salon/spa working environment (see below for desired experience levels).
3. Friendly, enthusiastic and good communication skills.
4. Well motivated, able to work from own initiative and on time with busy appointment book.
5. Ability to solve problems, make decisions and consult with others.
6. Flexible and adaptable, able to work alone and as part of a group.
7. Basic computer skills: Word, Internet, editing written work, e-mails, etc.
8. Ability to work within agreed quality standards, systems and procedures.
9. A genuine interest in health and beauty and the latest trends.
Desirable criteria
1. At least 2 years experience working in a busy salon or spa.
2. Qualified and experience in aromatherapy, reflexology and other holistic treatments, electrical treatments, Brazilian waxing (male/female), tanning, make-up.
